Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor in Sociology of Education (RE-Advertised)
Applications are invited for interested and suitably qualified persons for the challenging and demanding academic position in the Education Foundations Department tenable at Chancellor College, the main constituent College of the University of Malawi. There is only one position at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor level in Sociology of Education.
Applicants for the position of a Lecturer must have at least a Master of Education Degree in Sociology of Education plus a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with CREDIT or DISTINCTION.
Applicants at senior lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor level should provide evidence of their publications in peer reviewed journals (3 for Senior lecturer, 5 for Associate Professor and 8 for Professor).
The successful candidate will be expected to: teach sociology of education courses and other related education foundation courses to both undergraduate AND postgraduate students; Supervise students on teaching practice, carry out research, consultancies and outreach activities; supervise students’ research work; offer in-service training; and carryout any duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department, School of Education and the university as whole.
Applicants should be less than 40 years of age.
