Afikepo Project Officer
The Human Ecology Department, Chancellor College has partnered with UNICEF Afikepo Project to provide technical support in the implementation of Afikepo project activities in Mulanje District. In this regard, Chancellor college is looking for a Project Officer to work on a temporary contract for a one year period.The officer will be responsible for provision of regular technical support, and will work in close collaboration with Mulanje District Council Nutrition team and FAO Afikepo project team in the implementation of project activities in the district.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
To provide technical support in day to day management and implementation of Afikepo project activities
Coordinate planning of quarterly workplans to guide implementation of project activities
Ensure timely implementation and monitoring of all planned project activities
Ensure relevant project reports are produced, available, accessible and shared with implementation partners.
Identify and document best practices in the adoption of recommended maternal, infant and young child nutrition practices.
Bachelors Degree in relevant discpline including Food and Nutrition, Nutrition, Food Security or Agriculture
Knowledge of Malawi nutrition programmes and related development programmes
Ability to work with a district level set-up and in very remote areas of Malawi
Ability to be part of a team, and work in a multidisciplinary environment
Good interpersonal, communication and writing skills
Applicant should have at least five years experience in nutrition programming and monitoring and evaluation of projects.
