Opening Arrangements for 2016/2017 Academic Year Semester 1

Chancellor College wishes to inform its new and continuing students as well as the general public that opening arrangements for the first semester of 2016/17 academic year are as follows:-


Classes for the first semester of the 2016/17 academic year begin on 20th March, 2017.  However, specific categories of students are requested to take note of the specific dates indicated below:

  • Year 3 Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Cultural Studies (Mature Entry) : 27th March, 2017
  • Year 1 Generic Students: 13th March, 2017 - Orientation starts
  • Continuing Students: 20th March, 2017 - Classes start 


Students are advised to start paying for tuition fees contribution immediately through National Bank of Malawi using their 12 digit individual student account numbers assigned by the College. Students are being advised that payment can be made through Mo626. The depositor, Section on the bank deposit slip, should bear individual student account number.Students are strongly advised not to indicate Chanco Sundry account but fill their individual account numbers on the space provided for account number.  First year students are advised to check their students account numbers through email to or SMS to the following number 0888638000.


SARIS will be open for registration on-line from Monday, 13th March 2017.  Only students who will pay 50% of the total financial contribution for the academic year shall be allowed to register. Students who fail to register within a period of two weeks from the official opening date shall be deemed to have voluntarily withdrawn unless they ask the College to reserve their place to next academic year. 


All continuing students that receive monthly stipend shall continue to receive a monthly allowance of K50, 000.00 per month for the duration the students shall be on campus, paid on pro-rata basis. The first payment for the first semester shall be paid on Friday, 25th March 2017 for those students that shall register by Wednesday 23rd March 2017.  Please note that the College shall only pay the monthly allowance to registered students.


First Year Students should enquire by calling Porters’ Lodge on 0888 638000 or visit the college website to check if they have been offered a place on campus.  All continuing students who were tentatively offered accommodation on campus and are repeating should look for alternative lodging as earlier communicated. Continuing students who were not successful in getting campus accommodation should check their portals or e-mails in case they have been lucky during the second allocation
