The Centre for Peace and Conflict Management (formerly the Conflict Resolution and Management Resource Centre-CRMRC), a component of the Faculty of Social Science, is based at Chancellor College, University of Malawi. The Centre opened in 2002 and formerly operated as unit in the Department of Political and Administrative Studies. The Centre aims to contribute towards sustainable peace and stability in University of Malawi campuses and the wider Malawi society through teaching, training, research and provision of conflict management services. Furthermore, it acts as a nerve centre for mediation and other tools of conflict management that society at large can draw from.
The Centre carries out Research in the fields of conflict, as regards its genesis, escalation, nature and management; and peace and security in various forms.
The Centre offers courses in the areas of Crisis Prevention, Conflict Management, Resolution and Peace and Security studies, and Diversity Management.
