Instructor/Lecturer in Mathematics

The Mathematical Sciences Department at Chancellor College under the "Improving Quality and Capacity of Mathematics Teacher Education" in Malawi Project wishes to recruit an Instructor/Lecturer in Mathematics on Contract basis for two years and renewable under satisfactory performance.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Education Science Degree (with Credit) majoring in Mathematics. Applicants for the position of a Lecturer should hold a Master’s Degree or a Doctorate degree in Mathematics with a credit in their first degree from a recognized University. Those with teaching experience at university level will have an advantage

Duties

1. Teaching, setting and timely marking examinations for undergraduate mathematics courses.

2. Conducting research in the area of specialisation.

3. Supervising undergraduate student projects within the Department.

4. Participating in all academic and professional activities of the Department.

5. Being part of academic consultants within the broader areas of the department.   

6. Carrying out any duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
