Dr Jonas Mwatseteza is the current Dean of Students at Chancellor College. He has worked as student warden at Chancellor College for three years before, and has ably instituted programmes for improvement of student welfare for the benefit of both staff and students. He has recently chaired Semesterisation Rules Committee overseeing the completion of the second phase of the semester system at Chancellor College a very critical link between student welfare and academic life. He is a proud participant of the 2009 Associate Programme of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Dr Mwatseteza has expertise in situational analysis and commands practical knowledge of safety, environment and risk management ideal for both small and large communities.
As an academic, Dr Mwatseteza is Associate Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science at Chancellor College, University of Malawi undertaking teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Analytical Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry. His main research interests are water and wastewater treatment, development of reliable and robust sample handling and quantification techniques for profiling of analytes in food, environmental samples, and various other matrices. He has experience of working with several instrumentation techniques in analytical chemistry. He has worked for Chancellor College for close to twenty years.
